Corosex (aka – FloMag)….(Magnesium Oxide), can be mixed with Calcite to treat very low acidic waters, ranging from 4.5 – 6.0 pH. Corosex may overcorrect the pH level and create a high pH condition. For this reason, we recommend mixing a 2 : 1 ratio of Calcite to Corosex. (i.e. 2 Parts Calcite with 1 Part FloMag) This mixing ratio will also help to keep the Corosex media from “cementing” inside the media tank. As the Corosex media dissolves, it will also increase the hardness of your water. (I.E. If your pH level is 6.0, the Corosex media will increase your water hardness 4 – 5 grains per gallon, as it raises the pH level to 7.0). Corosex media should be backwashed on a regular basis. You will also need to replenished the media, periodically (approximately every 12-18 months), as it slowly dissolves. Corosex Specifications
